Lee Kum Kee black bean sauce is made from the classic Sichuanese combination of fermented black beans and garlic. A spoonful of the rich, savoury sauce adds great depth to braised dishes and stir fries. Lee Kum Kee is widely considered to be the finest producer of Chinese cooking sauces, and their black bean sauce with garlic does not disappoint.

The sauce is a real time-saver, and a spoonful goes a long way. Aside from using the black bean sauce in stir fries, get experimental – mixing a spoonful with a little lemon and oil makes a delicious fish marinade, or even take inspiration from Ken Hom and try replicating his Kaiping dish of stir-frying bitter melon in a black bean sauce with garlic.

Ingredients: soy sauce (water, salt, soybeans, wheat flour), fermented black beans (black beans, salt, water) (23%), water, sugar, dehydrated garlic (6%), salt, soybean oil, rice wine (water, rice, wheat), modified corn starch. Contains allergens: soya, gluten (wheat).
