Stockyard baked bean starter is your shortcut to great tasting homemade baked beans. The sauce is sweet and smoky, with a tang from apple cider vinegar and a gentle fruity heat from ancho chilli.

Drain two 400g cans of haricot beans and transfer to a saucepan. Add the contents of one whole jar of Stockyard baked bean starter, and heat until simmering. Cover with the lid and simmer on a low heat for 20 minutes.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, stockyards were at the centre of America’s premium meat trade. American Stockyard’s small batch barbecue sauces and condiments aim to capture some of the nostalgia of the time, when all-natural ingredients reigned, and good meals were social occasions full of relaxed chatter and easy laughter.
