Basic French Toast

Description
Step 1
In a shallow dish, whisk egg, milk and cinnamon, if using.
Step 2
In a medium fry pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Step 3
Working with one slice at a time, dip the bread into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are coated. Quickly add to the hot pan and move on to the next slice of bread. It’s best to only cook two slices at a time to avoid crowding the pan. Cook on each side for a couple of minutes, or until the bread looks delicious and golden brown.
Step 4
Remove from the pan and serve with extra butter and maple syrup or honey.
